Herndon Hobbies and Excursions Club

Are you a regular 9-5 person who wants to start the weekend off on a chill, low-key note? New in town and looking to meet new faces and do something on the weekends? Or maybe you want to be one with nature and go on a hike with friends? Or perhaps you want to do some volunteer service for your community? Well, you come to the right place!

Here, at our community, we consist of sound-minded individuals, age ranged from 20s to 40s, who come together to enjoy, share and experience their favorite hobbies or if they're looking for something to do on the weekend or after work. Whether it's something casual like morning coffee and evening boba tea or something more adventurous like weekend hiking trips, movie outings, volunteer work, karaoke nights and museum visits, there's always something to do in Northern Virginia with a group of friends who like to indulge in their favorite hobbies or discover a new hobby.

We welcome individuals from various walks of life, ranging from creatively-talented to adventurous folks who are exploring the area and looking for a new hobby to partake in.

Some quick and simple rules to go over about the group:

• This is a laid-back, low-pressure social group built around your personal schedule. Whether you need to pop in for a moment, show up a bit late, or head out before the end of an event, you are encouraged to engage in whichever way feels most comfortable for you.

• We pride ourselves on maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment. Please be respectful and kind to all members at all times, as we take any reports of misconduct very seriously to ensure our community remains a safe space for everyone.

• Please be considerate of others by updating your RSVP status at least 1–2 hours before an event if you can no longer attend. This helps us maintain an accurate headcount and gives members on the waitlist the opportunity to participate.

• We maintain a firm policy against solicitation; please refrain from selling services, advertising job openings, or recruiting for outside business ventures.

• No advertising or posting from other Meetup groups

• We maintain a zero-tolerance policy regarding discrimination, harassment, and hate speech to ensure that our community remains a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all members. Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in immediate removal and a permanent ban from the community.

• And, more importantly, just have fun!
