Meet Amazing Data Women

This group is for women who work with and love data. Our goal is to bring together women who work in data or who would like work in data - to support one another, share experiences and talk data - big or small! Whether you’re a student just embarking on a career or a seasoned data professional, this group is for you. We want to connect and inspire amazing data women with diverse expertise and experience.

At this event, we’ll have more great talks from female data analysts, scientists and researchers so come along, ask questions and meet other women who love data!

Speakers:
• Anne Sloman (https://twitter.com/anne_sloman) has 15 years’ experience working in and leading analytical teams. She has worked with a number of retailers to implement analytics solutions across customer and store insight, promotions, category management and personalised multi-channel customer comms. Anne has recently joined the North West based Red Tiger Consulting, a start-up specialising in Retail and Property analytics.

• Mayowa Ayodele (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ayodele-mayowa-434a9848/ ) works as a Data Process and Applications Scientist. She recently completed a Ph.D. in computational intelligence where she focused on applying evolutionary algorithms for solving optimisation problems. Mayowa's area of interest is in real-world applications of evolutionary and machine learning algorithms. She has previously worked on industry-academia collaborative projects within the oil and gas sector applying evolutionary algorithms for vessel scheduling. She currently works on a collaborative project between DWF and the University of Manchester focusing on using data science to achieve better decision making within the context of legal representation.

• Katie-Marie Friday (https://uk.linkedin.com/in/katie-marie-friday-4363b3127) is a Data Analytics Manager at KPMG. Graduating from University with a degree in Biology but a true love for numbers she swiftly moved into accountancy. Initially with a career in Audit Katie saw an opportunity for the future of audit within Data Analytics. Since then, the department has tripled in size and the uptake of D&A technology has expanded. D&A is a hot topic in the regulatory world and Katie uses her analysis skills to drive quality, efficiency and value by providing data driven insights to audits internationally.
