Using data to better understand our communities

This session will be focused on the Co-op’s Community Wellbeing Index (CWI).

The Community Wellbeing Index (CWI) is an online insight tool that provides wellbeing related information for over 28,000 communities across the UK. There are more than 50 different indicators within the Index, covering a wide range of themes - from the quality of education and transport links within an area, to the amount of green space and the number of community centres that are present - providing a useful snapshot into the strengths of different communities and also the challenges that they are facing.

Attendees will leave with a better understanding around -

• Why the Co-op created the Community Wellbeing Index (CWI)
• How it was developed, with an in depth look at methodology
• What the data is used for within the Co-op
• How external organisations have been using the Index
• Future plans

Speaker – Sophie Wozmirska, Community Wellbeing Index Lead at the Co-op.

Sophie works within Analytics and BI, managing the CWI. This involves dealing with internal/external data requests, overseeing the annual refresh of the data and helping others to embed the data into their own community activity.
