Speaker: Tristi Tanaka, Chief Medical Office Directorate, NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board
Title: Sense Making in the Emerging Age of AI Transformation
Abstract: This talk will explore the challenges facing every day people- from a health and care perspective - in light of widespread public sector digital transformation. Vital to the success of this transformation is the evolving role of data and analytics professionals in a time where 'AI transformation' promises to speed up the delivery of solutions to all of our pressing problems. We peek under the hood at some of the challenges facing data professionals: data literacy for 'patient activation', digital inequalities, funding, varied workforce and leadership readiness and an emergent change of the goalposts to professionalising - entry, transition and progression.
Bio: Tristi has worked 25 years in and with technologists on transformation and change across US NGOs, the UK public sector and global private sector firms. Humbled to be named in Computer Weekly’s “Top 50 Most Influential Women in UK Tech” and the UKTech long list, she is passionate about equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging and focused on opportunities to give and share platform to the voices unheard and/or unseen. Tristi's work portfolio connects with her purpose through her committee roles in BCS and other like-minded groups and networks – The Shuri Network, TechUP, All4Health&Care, AnalystX, ForHumanity, and groups working on AI Ethics, seeking to develop solutions that reduce inequalities while supporting equitable and sustainable change.
