HER+Data MCR is a community working to connect, inspire, support and empower the NW UK’s Women in Data. Our goal is to bring together women and non-binary people who work in data or who would like to work in data - to support one another, share experiences and talk data - big or small! Whether you’re a student just embarking on a career or a seasoned data professional, this group is for you. We want to connect and inspire amazing data women with diverse expertise and experience.

This event is very generously hosted by ADA college. The building is fully wheelchair accessible. There is one parking space for blue badge holders.

This session is open to people of all genders.

Speakers
Sarah Miguel (she/her) is the Director of Fundraising & Marketing at LGBT Foundation; the UK’s leading health and wellbeing charity for the LGBTQ+ community. She brings a wealth of experience in Non Profit sectors, and is passionate about social justice, and data-informed decision making. Sarah is a Tech For Good Live contributor and currently serves on the Boards of MASH (Manchester), FutureEverything and NEON. She previously held leadership roles at Safe Passage, Campaign Bootcamp and People’s History Museum. Sarah studied Sociology at the University of Manchester and considers herself to have become an adopted Mancunian. She loves city breaks, board games, wild swimming and her cat Sakura.

Ms Viji Richard (she/her) is a transformational leader with over two decades of global experience across 20+ business sectors—from aerospace and automotive to food and beverage. She began her entrepreneurial journey at just 16, setting up her own company during summer holidays and securing her first client by writing code in FoxPro. That early experience laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to using data as a force for innovation, equity, and connection.
She has since led billion-dollar transformations across continents, including Daewoo in South Korea and the Jaguar handover in the UK. Today, she serves as Engagement Manager at Siemens, managing over 190 customer accounts—25% valued at over a billion dollars—driving strategy through enterprise systems and data intelligence.
She is Chair of Siemens Pride UK, a trustee for Metro Charity and Coventry Pride, and a leading voice in Out Leadership. She actively champions Women in Tech, Women in Manufacturing, and Women in Metal.
Her global journey spans over a decade at Tata Group, pioneering work in AI and autonomous driving, and ambassador roles with IASA and Fedora. Whether in boardrooms, at business forums, or captaining the Warwick Jaguars Segway polo team, she brings people together with purpose. At her core, she believes that data should serve humanity—and help build a more inclusive world.
