What we’re about

“Hey Girl!” is a collaborative* subcommittee of Silicon Valley PRIDE that organizes and promotes events to women and femme-identified queer, trans, and nonbinary folx. We aim to build, unify, and strengthen the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the South Bay and beyond.

"Hey Girl!" welcomes anybody who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA+ to attend our events. As an arm of Silicon Valley PRIDE (a 501(c)(3) corporation with a mission to serve the entire community), we don't exclude anybody. In our logo and literature and at the table at Splash, we tell folks that our events are targeted to queer women, including the trans and nonbinary community. Whether people are female- or male-presenting, no matter their gender, we're glad they want to be in community with us.

Every third Saturday of the month, we host "Hey Girl! Come Out and PLAY" at Splash in downtown San Jose from 6pm to 10pm, featuring our resident DJ DannyG.

Throughout the year, we host other social events, education-activation workshops, and more.

We are especially proud to present “Hey Girl!” at Silicon Valley PRIDE: an inclusive area and stage at the festival dedicated to celebrating all identities and communities. We are steadily expanding our footprint and offering more diverse entertainment on our stage!

“Hey Girl!” strives to be as inclusive as possible—so whoever your authentic self is, we welcome you!

We are always looking for help on our events committee, so if you’re interested in being on the “Hey Girl!” team, please email nicolea@svpride.com.

* We are proud to collaborate with our partners: Billy DeFrank LGBTQ+ Community Center, San Jose Women's Softball League, DJ DannyG, PLAY!, and Girlpages NorCal.

[Note: This was formerly the Gay Girlfriendz Meetup group. In the summer of 2022, the original organizer, Janette Herceg, stepped down, and a new organizer stepped up. In October 2022 this became the official Meetup site for "Hey Girl!"]
