About us
"Hey Girl!" is a collaborative subcommittee of Silicon Valley PRIDE, a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to serve the entire 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We create spaces primarily for queer women, including our trans and nonbinary siblings. Please check out our main site at https://www.meetup.com/heygirl/.
In addition to dance parties, we work to bring community together at events celebrating, for example, Lesbian Visibility Week, Transgender Visibility Week, and of course, Silicon Valley PRIDE.
We recently welcomed the Hers & Hers membership to "Hey Girl!" and we are working on ways to offer single mingles every few months at "Hey Girl! Come Out and PLAY!" and other venues.

History note: DJ Rockaway (Tina) created the Hers & Hers Meetup group many years ago to provide opportunities for single lesbians to meet each other in a fun, playful, intimate environment where they could have meaningful conversations and meet potential matches. One of her offerings was the monthly dance party, called PLAY, at Splash! in downtown San Jose, at which "Hey Girl!" sometimes hosted special events. After the Covid-19 pandemic, DJ Rockaway graciously allowed "Hey Girl!" to keep the party going. In March 2024, Tina formally stepped down as organizer of this Meetup group, and the "Hey Girl!" team stepped up.
