Hiking Xindian to Muzha

Come hike with us in the new year of the horse! Phil will guide us on this nice trail, close to the city.

We will meet at Xindian District Office MRT station, exit 1 at 10.30am. From here we will start our hike into the mountains surrounding the South of Taipei. One of the routes is along 'Little lions Head Mountain'. We will combine a few different trails, offering a varied beautiful hike and some great exercise! Don't worry, we won't hike past the waterfall temple, as most people have seen it many times :). We will explore a new route!

We expect to arrive in Maokong around 4PM. For those interested we can then grab some food or a drink - depending on group preferences. Afterwards we take the cable cars down towards Muzha while watching the magical city lights below. If you prefer to take the gondola immediately after the hike and before the sunset - that's ok too. No obligations!

Note this is a hike, not a walk! Make sure you are experienced and trained enough for this physically, so you can keep up with the group. The hike will take a few hours and the level is medium. Not too difficult but not suitable if you've never hiked before! Wear hiking shoes as some of the path could be muddy.

Important:

• A voluntary 50ntd contribution for attending is appreciated (to cover MeetUp expenses).
• Wear appropriate clothes and shoes for hiking in (unpredictable and sometimes extreme) Taiwan weather.
• Bring enough water (recommended 2L) and food for hiking for a few hours. Don't forget your lunch! There's no shops on the trail (toilets unknown).
• This informal hike is organized by volunteers. You yourself are the only one responsible for your physical and mental wellbeing at all times. The hosts cannot be held accountable for any losses or injuries. Never leave the group without informing others and be careful and responsible.
• Be friendly, willing to meet new people and make everyone feel welcome.
• Be flexible if the exact route or anything changes in case of unforeseen circumstances. Go with the flow. :)
