About us
WANTED: Leaders who... lead! Do you have a favorite spot you would like to plug and host a no-frills "show & tell"? Pick a date/time that WORKS FOR YOU as an Event Host and let me know! Fame and Hosting glory is only a email away! haha.
Dear Members (Be sure to click READ MORE for full info)::
ThisΒ group is for people who love wine & beer but are not wine or beer snobs. We are always looking for people whoΒ enjoy tastings at wine shops,Β micro-breweries, restaurants, members home's (backyards!), BYOW-tailgates, festivals, etc. Anything to do with wine or micro- beers fair game!
BE SURE TO CHECK OUR PAST EVENTS for a good idea of "who" we are.Β
We like to do indoor events in the winter and outdoor events in the summer>>> our summer key-note events are our BYOW wine tasting events at Ravinia Park. I target Ravinia events with low admission fee's (usually $17) so we can enjoy wine, beer, snacks & each others company. We set-up (BYO-lawn chair) in a giant circle, drink and yap! What's not to like?
Because there are so many wine and brewery groups out there, I prefer to keep our North Shore Group tastings to those suburbs that actually have..Β or are sorta close... to a shore! (i.e.: on Lake Michigan) or on the north side of Chicago. Sorry Schaumberg-ians!
After some tastings, but not all, we take a "field-vote" and some of us may go somewhere local (near our tasting location ) for a lite dinner/after snack?Β If you think you might like to doΒ this, I suggest you bring some small bills so we don't drive the waiter crazy with a half-dozen plus different charge's.
Your Organizer:
