What we’re about

About Us
Join us in this group to explore together aspects of various spiritual traditions and bring your own sacred practices. From eastern philosophies and practices such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Vedic, Tantra, Taoism, Ayurveda, Yogic, Taoism, to shamanic, animist and nature-based beliefs and practices, we will explore how they can benefit the highly sensitive person and give us an insight into honouring this trait.

We will extract key aspects from each of these teachings and how they relate to being an HSP, and how certain aspects of all these teachings can help us better navigate those times when we feel overwhelmed by our emotions, our thinking or our highly sensitive bodies and nervous systems.

There is no expectation for anyone wishing to participate to already have an established spiritual practice, but we will seek to cultivate meaningful Self Enquiry processes and a variety of meditation techniques suited to HSPs to support us in our day to day lives.

About Priyal
Born into Jain family and community in the UK, since childhood I have studied various Vedic and Eastern teachings such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Tantra and Taoism. I will bring elements of all these practices and share the teachings that are most relevant to HSPs. I have studied and practiced various meditation and yogic practices that I would like to share with the HSP community. I'm particularly keen in supporting HSP who are interested in developing a spiritual practice however that feels right for them.

I trained as a Holistic Bodyworker, Hatha (Sivananda), Tantric and Kundalini Yoga teacher and, Taoist Qi Gong for Health Practitioner under the tutelage of Mantak Chia and his Universal Healing Tao System.

I am passionate about sharing how these experiences and practices can be applied to support HSPs to develop and cultivate spiritual practices that focus specifically on the HSP trait.

In my former life I was a project and programme manager delivering large scale multi-million pound projects in the public and private sector across the education industry.

About Cindy
I am a psychotherapist, HSP and have been working exclusively with HSPs for 8 years.  Brought up a Christian, from a very young age I was fascinated by the aliveness and interconnectedness of the natural world and with that connection to something much bigger than myself.

I trained with the eco-philosopher and eco-psychologist Joanna Macy to become a facilitator of her transformational programme of theory and practice, the Work That Reconnects which develops a person’s capacity to reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the Earth. I have also trained as an End of Life Doula, and in various shamanic and animist traditions and count the late Malidoma Patrice Somé as a key influence and personal teacher.

My professional HSP training has been with Elaine Aron, Barbara Allen and Jacqueline Strickland.

Elaine Aron talks of the world needing HSPs to step into their ‘Emotional Leadership’. I believe cultivating a spiritual practice is one way to help us anchor that.
