🏔️ Grind it at Glen Haffy: The Backdoor Edition
Details
It’s not Vancouver's infamous Grouse Grind, but we will be doing some legitimate climbing through Glen Haffy.
These trails offer some of the most panoramic vistas in southern Ontario. We're talking wide paths weaving through a landscape of trees reaching so far into the sky you might actually strain your neck.
🤫 What Sounds Will You Hear?
- The sweet whistle of a cardinal.
- The deep croak of a bullfrog.
- The majestic, chaotic cackling of the High Park Hiking Group.
As a bonus, both the Niagara Escarpment and the Bruce Trail converge here, and it boasts some of the best trout fishing around—though we’ll be chasing kilometers, not fish.

- The Secret: We are entering through the back way once again. You know what that means: No parking fees. Use those saved loonies to buy yourself a celebratory coffee.
- Carpooling: Highly encouraged. Have you seen gas prices lately? Ouch. Organize among yourselves and share the pain at the pump.

🎒 What to Bring
Be fully prepared with your usual gear: snacks, bug spray, plenty of water, a packed lunch, and... icers (WTF).
Yes, it’s June. No, there isn't ice. But look, we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: there is no such thing as too much fresh air (or being ridiculously over-prepared).
Need I say more? Will you be joining me?
