No, Saturday, October 10th isn't Valentine's Day, but we're still heading straight for Heart Lake Conservation Area. I did have a clever opening line involving hearts, romance, and hiking boots, but apparently some material is better left off the public chat. Let's just say this hike has plenty of heart.

Now, before anyone thinks Heart Lake is just a casual stroll around a pond, think again. This is almost 10 km of hiking, rated Level 2 - Intermediate. So while there may be a heart involved, expect your lungs and legs to get equal attention.
Meet at 9:25 AM, ready to hike, in the free parking lot at White Spruce Park.
Carpooling is encouraged. With the current price of gas, driving alone is a bold financial strategy that I cannot recommend.

We're slowly weaning everyone off the collection of map links and moving toward the superior What3Words system. Resistance is futile.
By now you know the drill:

  • Dress for the weather.
  • Wear proper footwear.
  • Bring snacks.
  • Bring lots of H₂O.
  • Bring a smile.
  • Leave your excuses at home.

And remember:
All you need is love... but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.
In fact, after 10 km, it may qualify as an essential piece of hiking equipment.
See you on the trail.
