I know most people are hesitant to drive more than an hour to hike. The Jackrabbit Trailhead is a little more than two hours from Greenville. Myself, I plan to stay overnight in Hiawassee, GA.
There are about six different hikes from the Jackrabbit Trailhead, this is one of my favorite. During the hike you will have great views of Lake Chatuge and the mountains. Don't be surprised to see wildlife also.
I plan to be at the trailhead a little before 10 am. I will be driving a green Subaru Forester.
Bring water and insect repellant. There is a pit toilet at the trailhead. Also, the trail is shared with cyclists. Unlike other places, the cyclists are polite and share the trail.
Hope to see some of you on this beautiful, easy mountain hike.
