Old Salmon River Trail, Welches, OR

• Let's plan to meet @ the Hoodland Thriftway on the corner of Rt. 26 & Welches Road (to carpool) @ 9:45am please.
• You will see my white Subaru Outback, plates ***PFT.
• This splits the cost of day pass, and also will cut down on how many parking spots our group hogs at the limited trailhead parking lot.
• Each car will need a Northwest Forest Pass: $5 Recreational Day Pass or $30 annual pass, available @ the Thriftway.
• Hoodland Thriftway is only 8 minutes from the trailhead and we plan to arrive by 10am to begin our event.
• Plan for a one hour drive from Portland.
• There is limited cell phone reception by the trailhead, it is best to meet @ 9:45am @ Hoodland Thriftway please.
• Only 1.9 miles long (3.8 miles total), this trail parallels the wild and scenic Salmon River. Although this trail is near the road, the closeness and constant sound of the river, as well as the old-growth features of the forest, make this one of the most outstanding hikes in the Zigzag Ranger District.
• Other than a short hill on each end, this is a relatively flat trail.
• We will enjoy many riverside breezes and views and will work together to choose our Nia dancing spot by the water.
• Nia Somatic movement is gentle, fun, inclusive, healing, move-at-YOUR-own-pace & in YOUR body's way. It is about what it FEELS like, not so much what it looks like, y'all. For more info on Nia, check out Tudie.Poppins.com.
• We use headphones (provided), handsfree mic, radio transmitter & iPod technology!
• Please wear clothing you like to move in and hooded rain gear (when needed) to protect our headphones.
• Be sure to have a healthy breakfast that includes protein & pack a snack perhaps.
• Bring your water bottle.
• If your intention to attend changes, pretty please change your RSVP status on MeetUp to "Not Going" as soon as your plans change. I have limited sets of headphones and would love to avoid "no-shows" from excluding others who wish to join. THX.
• Please avoid asking others on a date during this event. My intention is to foster safe space to meet new people, hike, dance and FEEL the music. Please respect your fellow attendees. I remove members who aim to "pick-up". Please let me know if you are ever made uncomfortable by another during an event.
