Sunday, May 10th: hike.🎧Nia.⛅hike @ Washington Park / Hoyt Arboretum
Details
Sunday, May 10th, 10am-1pm
Washington Park / Hoyt Arboretum hike~Nia~hike
- We will meet up @ the Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial across from the parking lot @ 10:00am. Parking is fee based @ $5. They are strict about it, please pay for parking as to avoid a ticket. I have a boxy black shoulder bag, shoulder length brown wavy hair & always a hat.
- Expect an easy 3 to 4 mile hike through towering evergreens and many other trees.
- We will meander some trails with the goal of reaching the Wedding Meadow, where we will practice our Nia Somatic Movement. The Wedding Meadow is a peaceful, grassy setting surrounded by stately conifers and fringed with white-blooming shrubs like snowberry and ocean spray.
- Nia is gentle, fun, inclusive, healing, move-at-YOUR-own-pace & in YOUR body's way. It is about what it FEELS like, not so much what it looks like, y'all.
- We use headphones (provided), handsfree mic, radio transmitter & iPod technology!
- Please wear clothing you like to move in and bring hooded rain gear (when applicable) to protect the headphones.
- Bring your full water bottle.
- Consider having a protein breakfast beforehand and packing a snack to bring with.
- If your intention to attend changes, pretty please change your RSVP status on MeetUp to "Not Going" as soon as your plans change. I have limited sets of headphones and would love to avoid "no-shows" from excluding others who wish to join. THX.
- Please avoid asking others on a date during this event. My intention is to foster safe space to meet new people, hike, dance and FEEL the music. Please respect your fellow attendees. I remove members who aim to "pick-up". Please let me know if you are ever made uncomfortable by another during an event.
We would LOVE to have you join us …
🔥 this is a community event and there is no charge. FREE! 🎈
If you feel called to donate to the upkeep costs of tech equipment and ongoing costs of MeetUp subscription, LMK. Support is lovely.
