10am-1pm
Oxbow Regional Park, Ancient Forest Trail, Gresham, OR

  • Oxbow is close-by, magical and promises a beautiful grounding visit. Let's go see our wild and scenic Sandy River up close!
  • Oxbow is a Metro Park that collects $5 per car (cards accepted) upon entrance to the park or you can buy an annual pass directly at the Oxbow Park office for $40. (please arrive a few minutes early if you plan to do this.)
  • You will drive precisely 1 mile (restart your odometer) past the fee pay station to meet us at my white Subaru Outback @ Happy Creek picnic area where there are vault toilets to use.
  • Cell reception is spotty in this area.. so please take a looksie at the pin/map beforehand.
  • For our 3.5 mile hike, we will explore some gentle grades along the river's terraces and some steeper trails up a ridge between the river's bends. (nothing too crazy)
  • This undammed river carves cliffs and creates beaches in the park as it carries snowmelt and glacial till from its source on Mount Hood.
  • We will dance our Nia Somatic movement by the water, unless it is dumping rain and then we will dance undercover of a picnic shelter within the campground.
  • Nia Somatic movement is gentle, fun, inclusive, healing, move-at-YOUR-own-pace & in YOUR body's way. It is about what it FEELS like, not so much what it looks like, y'all. No prior experience needed.
  • We use headphones (provided), handsfree mic, radio transmitter & iPod technology!
  • Please wear clothing you like to move in and hooded rain gear (when needed) to protect our headphones.
  • Be sure to have a healthy breakfast that includes protein & pack a snack perhaps.
  • Bring your full water bottle.
  • If your intention to attend changes, pretty please change your RSVP status on MeetUp to "Not Going" as soon as your plans change. I have limited sets of headphones and would love to avoid "no-shows" from excluding others who wish to join. Also, I prefer to know whom I am and am not expecting at the trailhead.
  • Please avoid asking others on a date during this event. My intention is to foster safe space to meet new people, hike, dance and FEEL the music. Please respect your fellow attendees. I remove members who aim to "pick-up". Please let me know if you are ever made uncomfortable by another during an event.

We would LOVE to have you join us …

🔥 this is a community event and there is no charge. FREE! 🎈
