HVSF play and picnic at The Garrison: Medea: Re-Versed

Details

If you wish to join us, please buy a ticket then post a comment indicating where you will be sitting and sign up - I will then move you from the wait list.
Over the last few years, we have enjoyed several fantastic H.V.S.F - plays alike along with a pre-performance group picnic.

On Sunday June 16th join us for:

Medea: Re-Versed by Luis Quintero directed by Nathan Winkelstein

As the audience sits under a tent the performance will occur rain or shine, only the actors might get wet - the show must go on!

*** Schedule ***

  • 5.30 pm - picnic
  • 7.30 pm - performance starts.

We will meet at 5.30 pm for our potluck picnic. I hope to enjoy the views from the hill - it's a bit of an extra walk - but worth it, so plan accordingly. From the parking follow the path, you will see the tent downhill to the right, continue and then veer left up the grassy slope after crossing the road. The picnic is subject to cancellation, depending on the weather.

*** Purchasing tickets *** If you wish to join us, please purchase your own tickets at Medea: Re-Versed – HVSF (hvshakespeare.org)

Please RSVP on the site and let us know in your comments where you will be located in the tent. I will be at Section 100: Row E, Seat 16

Prices:
$10-100

*** Info about the play ***

### “There’s more to her than anyone could ever infer- You can kick my words to the curb. I think it’s time that we heard from her.”

An ice-cold, high-octane adaptation of Euripides’ play written in battle rap verse, this brand-new hip-hop version of Medea sheds contemporary light on the classic tragedy of family, power, and revenge – as stunning today as it was two thousand years ago. Quintero’s version of the story reignites the sacred rage of our ancestors and illuminates in the most human terms the extraordinary lengths that some people will travel to even the scales of justice.
