HVSF with picnic at The Garrison: Musical - Octet

Details

If you wish to join us, please buy a ticket; then post a comment indicating where you will be sitting and sign up - I will then move you from the waitlist.

Over the last few years, we have enjoyed several fantastic H.V.S.F - plays along with a pre-performance group picnic. This season will be the last in the beloved tent, but no fear a new permanent structure is being constructed.

On Sunday, Aug 17th please join us for:

Octet by Dave Malloy directed by Amanda Dehnert

As the audience sits under a tent the performance will occur rain or shine, and only the actors might get wet - the show must go on!

*** Schedule ***

  • 3 pm - picnic
  • 5 pm - performance starts.

We will meet at 3 pm for our potluck picnic. I hope to enjoy the views from the hill - it's a bit of an extra walk - but worth it, so plan accordingly. From the parking follow the path, you will see the tent downhill to the right, continue, and then veer left up the grassy slope after crossing the road. The picnic is subject to cancellation, depending on the weather.

*** Purchasing tickets *** If you wish to join us, please purchase your own theater tickets at: Octet – HVS

Please RSVP on the site and let us know in your comments where you will be located in the tent. I will be in Section 100: Row E, Seat 16

*** Info about the musical***
“If I go, will you go too?
Will you follow me?
Will you promise me?”

FROM THE CELEBRATED AUTHOR OF Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 comes a hauntingly original new musical about the search for human connection in the digital age. Featuring rich harmonies and intricate vocal arrangements, Octet finds compelling human drama in our middle-of-the-night anxieties about the impact of technology on the nature of our relationships.
The HVS production is the first to follow the original Off-Broadway version, which won the 2020 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding New Musical
