HVSF with picnic at The Garrison: Play - The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder

Details
If you wish to join us, please buy a ticket; then post a comment indicating where you will be sitting and sign up - I will then move you from the waitlist.
Over the last few years, we have enjoyed several fantastic H.V.S.F - plays along with a pre-performance group picnic. This season will be the last in the beloved tent, but no fear a new permanent structure is being constructed.
On Thursday, June 26th please join us for:
The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder directed by Davis McCallum
As the audience sits under a tent the performance will occur rain or shine, and only the actors might get wet - the show must go on!
*** Schedule ***
- 5.30 pm - picnic
- 7.30 pm - performance starts.
We will meet at 5.30 pm for our potluck picnic. I hope to enjoy the views from the hill - it's a bit of an extra walk - but worth it, so plan accordingly. From the parking follow the path, you will see the tent downhill to the right, continue, and then veer left up the grassy slope after crossing the road. The picnic is subject to cancellation, depending on the weather.
*** Purchasing tickets *** If you wish to join us, please purchase your own theater tickets at: The Matchmaker – HVS
Please RSVP on the site and let us know in your comments where you will be located in the tent. I will be in Section 100: Row F, Seat 16

*** Info about the play***
I can’t imagine a world without love. Why, if you take away love, you take away the purpose for living!”
SET BETWEEN A SLEEPY HUDSON RIVER TOWN and the bustling metropolis of 1880’s New York City, Thornton Wilder’s comic masterpiece is a delightful exploration of love, adventure, and the pursuit of happiness, set against the All-American backdrop of business and commerce. Don’t miss the play that inspired the musical Hello, Dolly! in a big boisterous production featuring HVS favorites Nance Williamson and Kurt Rhoads as Dolly Levi and Horace Vandergelder.
