East Humber meets West Humber (7.75 km)

Details
The western branch of Humber River meets the main river at Thistletown in northwest Toronto. It's a modest confluence with scenery typical of the lower Humber River. The main attraction is the food places that sandwich this hike.
We begin at famous Plaza Latina, a warren of Central and South American businesses. At the back is a food court with stalls proudly flying the flags of the cuisines they serve. Then, it's on to other plazas with Ghanaian, Colombian, Dominican, and Salvadoran restaurants. The plaza at Finch and Jayzel is particularly notable for Vietnamese food.
Meandering along Emery Creek and the West Humber Recreation Trail, the route crosses the Humber confluence into Thistletown. This neighbourhood is another melting pot of cuisines. South Asian restaurants have the slight edge here but one can find West African and Caribbean food too.
The hike ends at the best Pakistani karahi restaurant in Toronto. Karahi dishes are served in scorching hot vessels. It's rich, spicy, and easily feeds two. For those who prefer something lighter, there are Trinidadian and Salvadoran restaurants too.
