Join Hike with Maddy ATX for a weekend of camping, hiking, amazing food, and community at the Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area!

Hey y'all! I am SO EXCITED to offer the very first HWMATX group hiking and camping trip! I have been talking for a while about offering a weekend hiking and camping trip, and several people have expressed interest. I am planning a larger group hiking trip offering in 2027, but I wanted to organize a smaller weekend trip before the end of this year and before it gets too cold.

We have a large group campsite reserved for this weekend at Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area, located along Lake Travis and approximately one hour from Austin. The site provides a spacious, open area where we can all camp together, but participants must bring their own tent, sleeping supplies, and other personal camping gear. The ticket price of $200 will include access to our group campsite location, all meals for the weekend, including Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday breakfast, as well as an all day Saturday HWMATX adventure where Maddy will be leading a ~10-mile group hike around the park.

We will meet at our reserved group campsite at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, set up camp and enjoy dinner together. On Saturday morning, we will get up early and spend the day exploring the park’s 11.6 miles of trails. We will hike on the trails all day Saturday (probably for approximately 6 - 7 hours or 10-11 miles of hiking). We will return to camp Saturday evening for dinner and time to relax. Breakfast will be made for the group on Sunday morning before departing at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Weekend Schedule
Friday, December 4

• 5:00PM | Arrive anytime after 5:00PM and set up camp
• 7:30PM | Dinner
• 8:30PM | Welcome message from Maddy, fire pit, smores, and campfire chat (Be sure to bring a camping chair!)

Saturday, December 5

• 7:30AM | Early breakfast
• 9:00AM | Guided all-day hike led by Maddy
• ~12:30PM | Trail lunch
• ~5:00PM | Return to camp
• 7:30PM | Dinner
• 8:30PM | Campfire chat and passion show

Sunday, December 6

• 8:30AM | Group breakfast
• 11:00 | Depart the campsite

Your $200 ticket includes:

• Two nights of camping at our reserved group campsite
• Friday dinner
• Saturday breakfast, trail lunch, and dinner
• Sunday breakfast
• Guided Saturday hike
• Weekend planning and group coordination

Participants must bring their own tent, sleeping equipment, appropriate hiking gear and personal items. A complete packing list, food information and trip details will be provided before the event.
This trip is limited to 14 participants, so advance registration is required.

Participants should be comfortable hiking for several hours and potentially completing up to 11.6 miles in one day. We will maintain a supportive group pace and take breaks as needed.
