Mayhem At The Great Sand Dunes and Hotsprings

***MEET in Safeway parking lot to carpool 3 hours to the trailhead. $25 per CAR park entry fee. Bring cash to reimburse driver and entry fee. Joyful Journey hotsprings optional $18 per person for day pass.

Come ready to explore and have fun skiing, sledding, tubing and "sand" boarding! Cover arms and legs especially if windy!

*** Bring snowboard, sled or tube, if you own one***

This is a moderate 5 mile out and back trail with 700 ft elevation gain that features extraordinary formations and fantastic views.

***Animals: Friendly and manageable dogs are welcomed on a leash.

***WEATHER: 80 degrees and sunny and windy

*** Trail conditions: sandy

***NEEDED: Water, high boots, gaiters, cover legs and arms, light jacket, and snacks/drinks to share. Poles might be useful.

Socializing and drinking/eating and photos at several scenic spot.
