Maroon Bells & Crested Butte Overnight

***Meet at the Safeway parking lot on 3275 W. Colorado ave and carpool 4 -5 hours to Crested Butte. 4x4 high clearance vehicle needed!

Friday night: We check into our hotel, eat dinner and go to bed.

Saturday Morning:
Check out of hotel.
6am leave for the trailhead (shuttle or drive).

Breakfast on the trail. Bring light food high in carbs, protein, drinks to share.

Hike West Maroon Pass Trail in Crested Butte. This is a challenging 8 mile loop trail with over 2000+ ft elevation gain that features an alpine lake and incredible picturesque views.

LUNCH on the trail (bring food/ drinks) to eat and share! High carbs, protein and electrolytes.

Crater Lake hike, easy 3.5 miles!

DINNER on our way back to Colorado Springs.

*** COST: $75 (fees, accommodation, gas, some food). If need to rent 4x4 vehicles add $50 per person.

***WEATHER: ?? degrees and ??. Unpredictable weather so be prepared.

*** Trail conditions: may be snow and/ or mud, some rocky areas, water crossing

***NEEDED: WATER, bug spray, hiking poles, jacket, rain poncho, boots, hat, water shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, and snacks/drinks to share. Meds to treat altitude sickness.
