🌅 Sunrise Hike: Little Beehive → Mount St. Piran 🥾🏔️

We’ll start early to catch the sunrise (7:15AM) from Little Beehive, then continue on to Mount St. Piran for even more beautiful views over Lake Louise and the surrounding mountains.
This will be an early start and challenging hike, so please come prepared. September mornings are cold, often near or below freezing!

IMPORTANT: This hike is weather-dependent. If Saturday’s weather is not suitable for hiking, the hike will be moved to Sunday or postponed/cancelled, depending on the conditions. Please, plan accordingly. Please keep an eye on the group for any updates, as the final decision may be made closer to the hike based on the latest forecast.

Little Beehive: The one-way hiking distance from Lake Louise lakeshore to Little Beehive is approximately 4.4 km. We’ll head out at a steady pace to reach the viewpoint in time for sunrise. After sunrise, we’ll continue towards Mount St. Piran, adding another beautiful summit and viewpoint to our morning adventure :) It's one of my favorite hikes in the area. Mt. St Piran offers one of the finest views in the Lake Louise area, with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Louise, the Bow Valley, and the surrounding peaks.
This is a challenging hike with a steady uphill climb and plenty of switchbacks, so a good level of fitness is required. We'll keep a relaxed, steady pace with regular breaks to catch our breath, take in the scenery, and enjoy the journey to the summit. The effort is well worth it—the views from the top are truly spectacular.

Attendance:
We will try to keep our group to 4 - 6 people.

Cancellation:
Please note that late cancellations will be considered a no-show. If you’re unable to attend, please cancel as early as possible so that someone else has the opportunity to join the hike.

Meeting Place:
We will meet at 3:00 am at the Shouldice Park and Ride to arrange carpooling and leave sharp 3:10 am. Look for a silver metallic Mitsubishi RVR. If you want to drive directly to the trailhead and meet there, please let me know.

Carpooling:

If you’re looking to carpool, please use the comments section to offer or request a ride. After connecting with someone, you can arrange the remaining details privately through messaging. A suggested gas contribution is $30 + parking FEE $42. Please respect your driver’s vehicle by bringing a clean pair of shoes to change into, along with a plastic bag to store any dirty or wet footwear.

Access:
From Calgary, take the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) west toward Banff. Continue past Canmore and Banff for about 175 km, then take the Lake Louise Drive exit. Follow the signs to Lake Louise, where you'll find the parking area.
