Otter Creek Trail Maintenance and Backpacking!

Otter Creek is one of my favorite (and lesser used) Wilderness areas. Information on it is here:

Please click on and print a copy of the Otter Creek Wilderness Brochure along with the trail map and bring them with you.

We will do trail maintenance while staying at Bear Heaven Campground for free Friday and you will get to learn how beautiful an area it truly is with wild and wonderful waterfalls, and great brook trout fishing in a deeply forested setting.

Oct 11th- arrive at Bear Heaven Campground around 11:30PM and set up camp.

Oct 12th - break into groups according to physical ability and what you are comfortable with hiking and learn some of the secrets of this beautiful area. There could be a backpacking group that will spend Saturday night in the Wilderness if people are interested. If people do not want to backpack, the campground sites will also be available on Saturday night.

Oct 13th - hike/swim, maybe stop at the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center on the way home and or at our favorite local place for Sunday mid-afternoon dinner then return home. We will do a group dinner on Saturday evening, so can talk about what we want to do. Please bring cash for your share of dinner and the $2 registration fee, and bring your beverage of choice.
