It's that time of year again – our Annual General Meeting (AGM)!

Hike Norfolk Ramblers is a charity run entirely by unpaid volunteers. Our committee members and walk leaders give their time, energy and enthusiasm to keep the group running and to organise the fantastic walks and social events that we all enjoy. Their hard work helps ensure that everything we do is fun, welcoming and safe.

Could you help us keep Hike Norfolk going?

The group exists to support and provide opportunities for Ramblers members, and we're always keen to welcome new volunteers. Whether you'd like to join the committee, help out occasionally or get involved in another way, we'd love to hear from you.

If you'd like to put your name forward for a committee role, or simply find out more about volunteering, please email hikenorfolk@gmail.com.

Committee roles

  • Chair
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Membership Secretary
  • Walk Leaders Co-ordinator
  • Social Events Co-ordinator
  • Social Media Officer
  • General Committee Member 1
  • General Committee Member 2

How are committee members elected?

If only one person puts their name forward for a particular role, they will automatically be elected unopposed. If more than one person stands for the same role, an election will take place at the AGM.

Where a position is contested, each candidate will need a proposer and a seconder.

Who can attend and vote?

Everyone is welcome to attend the AGM, but you must be a current Ramblers member to stand for a committee position or vote on AGM matters. Non-members are very welcome to come along and observe.

Make a day of it!

We're also planning a short 3.9 mile walk before the AGM, giving you the opportunity to enjoy a walk with fellow members before settling down for the meeting. You can then enjoy your lunch after the walk, along with some refreshments at the AGM (hopefully!).

Details of the pre-AGM walk are here https://www.meetup.com/hikenorfolk/events/317270828/

If you have any questions about the AGM or would like to know more about getting involved, please email hikenorfolk@gmail.com.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. It's your group, and the AGM is a great opportunity to have your say, get involved and help shape its future!

See you there! :)
