Mark will be leading, filling in while some of us are in Lake Placid.

Hope to see you Tuesday, for the brisk paced 6-7 mile hike at Hartshorne Woods in the Highlands. We will meet in the Rocky Point Parking Lot and we'll meander the Rocky Point , Battery Loop, Grand Tour, Cuesta Ridge, Laurel Ridge trails for 6-ish miles and for the non weary another 1 mile to the Twin Lighthouses

Join us for 4 days of hiking and exploring the Adirondacks.

Enroute April 30th, we'll stretch our legs with a short Lake George walk, continue to Lake Placid, check into the Hotel and take another short walk at Lake Placid before dinner.

We'll spend 3 days ( May 1-3 ) hiking and exploring around the Lake Placid Area:

• West to Ampersand Mountain to view the SARANAC Lake Chain.
• South to view a few High Peaks & the Olympic Legacy
• East to Hurricane Mountain to view Lake Champlain Valley & more High Peaks.

A few activities have fees, parking at Mt Jo, the road toll to Whiteface 4,867’ summit, a visit to High Falls Gorge ( a private park) and the costs associated with a visit to an Olympic Venue.

We're staying at the Crowne Plaza Lake Placid ( see Location below) and plan to leave each morning 9am-ish for a daily adventure and end the day with a dinner around the Lake Placid area. CHECKING OUT May 4th.

You are responsible for your travel**, accommodations and dinner costs.
** A few of us are sharing travel costs by CarPooling, please use the COMMENTS section to possibly facilitate a carPool arrangement.

Check out the Blue, White, Yellow and Red Trails at Cushetunk Mountain. We will do more distance and less elevation with a short stop at the reservoir.

Generally considered moderate+. This trail has some steep sections and has views of the Round Valley Reservoir from the Cushetunk Ridge (during winter), The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Please note this is not a beginner hike. Participants must have hiking boots and (poles - if needed)

The park is located at the corner of Mountain and Main Street (Mtn. Rd. is a right turn from Main). You will pass the railroad crossing and Fire Station on the Right. Please note Pickle Park Parking lot is not the Municipal Building parking.
