Midweek Walk – Milford / Holland / Riegelsville (It's on)
Details
As of 10:20 AM, Jan 7th: > Hike Update: Meeting at 10:45 AM (70 Bridge St). Since we are in the Borough of Milford, you will need to find street parking, or try the lot behind 40 Frenchtown Rd (Library) or the lot next to the meeting point (70 Bridge St). We have 4 people joined from two groups. The weather looks perfect—see you all there!

We’re doing a Thursday-morning walk somewhere around Milford, Holland, or Riegelsville. The route will be along the Delaware — canal paths, old rail corridors, or abandoned tracks on the New Jersey side.
Due to unpredictable conditions (potential ice and thawing), I’ve planned three route options. Each is about 5 miles total (out & back), but you’re welcome to turn back anytime. We’ll pick the best route on the day—or if the weather is great, we might even do more than one!

Priority Order:
Abandoned railroad (NJ riverbank - unofficial)
Thomas Preserve @ Milford Bluffs (115 ft gain)
PA Canal towpath (Upper Black Eddy)
Gear:
Micro spikes: just in case of ice.
Trekking poles: Recommended if you prefer using them, especially for the climb at Milford Bluffs.
Bring your own lunch
