Snowy Towpath Walk: Turning Basin Park to Millstone Aqueduct

The Walk: A 5-mile out-and-back winter walk along the D&R Canal towpath. We will enjoy the serene snowy landscape with the canal on one side and the Millstone River on the other, walking from Princeton toward the Millstone Aqueduct.

• Distance: ~5 miles (Total)
• Terrain: Flat, but expect icy/snowy conditions.

MEETING POINTS & TIMES:
Drivers: 12:35 PM at Turning Basin Park Parking Lot (Alexander Rd, Princeton). This is where the hike officially begins.
From NYC by train: 12:07pm at Princeton Train Station platform (outside Wawa).

• Round-trip ticket to Princeton (not Princeton Junction)
• 10:33 AM train from NYC Penn Station → arrive Princeton Junction 11:55 AM
• Transfer to the Dinky Train at 12:02 AM (5-min ride; included in ticket)
• Note: Train travelers will walk an additional 0.8 miles from the station to the trailhead.

REQUIRED GEAR:

• Microspikes / Traction Devices: Mandatory. The path will be icy and slippery. No traction, no hike.
• Trekking Poles: Highly recommended for stability.
