Richmond Wanderlust: 4 Days of Trails & Exploration
In Richmond, VA, the James River isn't just a waterway—it’s a playground of history. You’ve got all kinds of bridges to wander: right down the middle of the highway, tucked underneath it, or even a quiet little footbridge all to yourself.
But we’re not just staying on the bridges! We'll be exploring the rugged riverbanks of James River Park, where the city’s industrial past meets nature. Everywhere you look, there are railroad trestles and weathered stone piers where bridges used to be. It’s so easy to picture the days when horse-drawn carriages, steam trains, and antique cars all crossed these paths.
The adventure is now live! I have mapped out 4 distinct routes (Orange, Yellow, Blue, and Green) covering the best of RVA’s skyline and riverside trails.
To help me manage the headcount and logistics, please RSVP for each specific day you plan to join us. Since we will choose the best route for each day based on the weather (sunny and 70s!), make sure to check the comments section of each event page 1–2 days prior for the final route selection and meeting point.
Stay tuned and see you on the trails!
