Passaic/Rutherford Town Trek & MetLife Stadium Connection

About this walk
A couple of days ago, we trekked from NY to MetLife Stadium, but missed the beautiful town of Rutherford. Monday, we are fixing that with a 12-mile point-to-point trek to fill in the missing piece of our Meadowlands exploration!

### The Route

• Part 1: Passaic to Rutherford (8 Miles) Start at Passaic Station, cross the Passaic River, and follow the trail along the abandoned Erie Railroad line. We'll explore Rutherford's town center, including Ridge Road's mansions, Park Avenue, and Iviswold Castle.
• Exit Option: Leave here at Rutherford Station via bus/train back to NYC.
• Part 2: The Meadowlands Link (3 Miles) Walk from Rutherford to MetLife Stadium.
• Exit Option: You can catch the #160 bus from here for a ride back to Manhattan.
• Part 3: The Finale (1 Mile) Walk from MetLife Stadium to the American Dream Mall.
• Important Note: If you finish the full walk here, there are no direct buses back to NYC from the mall. We will take the #85 bus back to Hoboken and transfer from there.

Meeting Point: Passaic Train Station
Buy ONEWAY ticket from Penn Station to Passaic, NJ.
8:53, 9:09, 9:17, or 9:22 AM depart New York Penn Station — about 10 minutes to Secaucus Upper Level. Or consider an earlier train if you’re not familiar with Secaucus, so you don’t risk missing the 9:42 AM connection.
