Let's paddle (kayak, SUP, canoe, or ?) on Lake Natoma to catch the second supermoon of 2023 (first of 2 in August). Launch from Black Miner's Bar entrance.

This is a provide your own boat event. Bring your boat, headlamp, water, and be prepared for evening wind and/or warm weather. We will land and load boats after dark.

Arrive 7:30 and help others launch and gather just offshore of the boat ramp.

  • 7:45 paddle down the lake about 55 minutes (through ponds -aka 'the jungle' - across the lake).
  • 8:40 turn around and head back to boat ramp.
  • Expect to start landing about 9:30 with the expectation of leaving about 9:45 or so (parking closes at 10pm).

Cost of parking is $10 (free with poppy pass). Be warned that this area frequently gets ticketed. Suggest bringing cash in case the entrance kiosk is not staffed and you need to feed the iron ranger.
