Two-Hour Fast Pace Power Hike 6-7 miles -Hills and Poles -- Not for Beginners

Details

This is a series of training hikes for later strenuous hikes (e.g. Mt. Whitney, Mt. Shasta, etc.). Let's go fast and pump up our heart rate! Bring your hiking poles for a few deep hills (up and down).

Please join me on the trails for a quick two-hour fast-paced hike on the north side of Lake Natomas - dirt trails with 3-5 short hills (NOT the paved bike trail). The pace is aimed at >3.5mile/hour.

There is a horse stable place in about halfway for restroom break. It will be out and back route. I will lead in front and try to keep the pace >3.5mile/hour. If you are faster, please go ahead. If you are slower, you can find us on the trail.

Meeting Place:
The parking lot: Nimbus Rd. and Gold Country Blvd. NOT Fish Hatchery parking lot. GPS location: 38.632114, -121.224245

Starting Time: 17:00- leave @17:05p.m. on time
Distance: 6-7 miles in two hours (~3.5-4miles/hour or faster)
Elevation Gain: about 900feet - 3-5 short hills to climb (please bring your hiking poles for your own safety)

Here are the routes I took to measure the distance and time. There are a few route choices I can lead through.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY:
Please keep in mind that the organizer of this trip is a VOLUNTEER, not a "leader." I am not trained in first aid and am not a bonded expert mountain guide. You will need to bring your own experience and judgment. If you want to enjoy the benefits of traveling in a group, then I suggest that you stay with the group on the trip. Just a reminder: assess the route and conditions as if you were going to do this trip solo.
This group, its organizer, or assistant organizers will not be held responsible for any injuries or accidents which may occur during carpooling to and from hikes or from any injuries or accidents before, during, or after group hikes. If you sign up and attend this hike, you are acknowledging that you are freely and voluntarily assuming any risk of injury or damages.
