Last time we turned around before reaching the bridge when we reached the Warming Hut. This time pack something hearty to eat and we'll goj beyond the Warming Hut to lots of interesting things to see at the GG Bridge.

A pleasant walk along the Bay from Chestnut St. to the Golden Gate bridge and back. We'll checkout the Marina architecture on the way to doing a six mile roundtrip hike to the GG Bridge and back. (With a late lunch on returning to Chestnut St., probably at Tacolucious.)

We'll stop at the old Exploratorium entrance for the nice restrooms.

Our destination is the Visitor Center for the Bridge. The GGNRA Volunteers, operate a very nice gift and souvenir shop there too at the approach to the Bridge. There is also an outdoor style museum with many exhibits showing materials and explanations of how the Bridge was constructed.

There are many side streets nearby with parking. There are no parking restrictions on weekends. Just leave extra time to find parking and allow time to walk over to where we meet. (I don't like circling around looking for parking in the area so I park up near Vallejo St. where there are plenty of open spots, no need to circle around.) If you miss us, we wait exactly 10 minutes and take off. We leave Chestnut St. and take the back streets over to the Palace of Fine Arts. But save stress and be on time.

Round-trip flat walk of six miles, taking a little over three hours. (You can turnaround and return at anytime to shorten the distance/time. It always seems very safe out there in the daytime, even when walking alone.)
There's the option for finding a late lunch/dinner. on Chestnut St., together, on returning.

Bring water, hearty snacks/a sandwich, fruit, hat and sunscreen. Of course wear sturdy walking/hiking footwear. You never know if it will be sunny and very hot or windy, foggy and cool. Dress in layers and I always recommend having a light windbreaker.
I think it's important to wear proper footwear on these events. I've been leading hikes and tours for twenty-seven years, take care of yourself.

And take care of me, If you would like to offer thanks and appreciation, I will be passing ‘the hat’. Not required, no obligation, no suggested amount.
