NMMC 2025 October General Meeting - New Mexico Summits (author book talk)

Join us for our October 2025 General Meeting for a brief discussion of the business of the club, opportunities to mingle with other outdoor enthusiasts and NMMC members, and a special presentation by Adam White, author of the Falcon Guidebook, New Mexico Summits: 40 Best Mountain Hikes to 50 Peaks.

Presentation Synopsis: Anyone who has ever tagged the summit of a peak knows that it is not only a rewarding and challenging experience but is generally where you will find the best scenery. Adam's book is a great resource for hikers who participate or are interested in peak-bagging in our state, a term used to summit a mountain. The following is a summary of his book:

New Mexico Summits guides readers to 40 incredible summits across the state. New Mexico is a hidden gem of peak hiking, with several mountains over 12 and 13,000 feet of elevation. The pinnacle – Wheeler Peak – is the highest point in the state of New Mexico at 13,167 feet. The state’s numerous other peaks between 10 and 11,000 feet, including several more between 7 and 9,000 feet, offer a wide range of summit hikes to choose from, varying in difficulty and duration. This guide will feature detailed hike descriptions, miles and directions, maps, color photos, and comprehensive specs for 40 of these amazing hikes, providing opportunities for hikers of all skill levels to experience some of New Mexico’s most stunning views and tallest summits.

Speaker Information:
Adam is an adventure travel author and photographer based in Tijeras, New Mexico. He is an avid hiker, canoeist, and adventure motorcycle enthusiast but welcomes the opportunity to go on any type of adventure. New Mexico Summits is his first published book and he is currently working on a second focusing on waterfalls. Stay tuned for more great adventures.

*** Please don't park in the lot across the street from the meeting room. They will ticket and/or tow cars parked there. There is ample parking in the church's parking lot which is on the EAST side of the building.
