Start Time: 8:00am (please be prompt because we will leave by 8:05 am)

Who Should Attend: only active hikers who are physically capable of hiking 9 steep miles in rocky terrain should plan on attending. Elevation Gain: Approx. 3,600ft.
Note: This is a lengthy and challenging hike; if I haven't hiked with you before, I may ask you some questions about your capabilities. I generally hike at an average 2.5 - 3 mph pace. You may be hiking by yourself at times if there is a significant pace difference among the hikers in the group, but we will stop periodically to regroup.

Hike Description: start at the Original La Luz and hike up the Crest House. We may take a short break at some point, possibly near the Crest House. The Old La Luz Trail is much steeper than the well-known La Luz trail; it is a challenging hike with approximately 3,600ft+ of elevation gain over 4.5 miles. The return hike will involve taking the same route back.

Unplugged Hike: You are more than welcome to bring your cell phone on the hike, but it just needs to be on silent.

Required Items:
Trekking poles (very helpful, if you have them)
Water
Snack/Lunch
Layers to keep you comfortable

Please know your food and water requirements and pack enough to sustain you throughout the hike.

We will meet at the parking area past the second cattle guard and carpool from there.
