Leisurely Pino Trail - out and back

We will meet at the trailhead at 7:10 a.m. for our 7:15 hike. We'll hike up Pino for 2 miles and return to Elena Gallegos Open Space for a total distance of 4 miles with an elevation gain of 1,000 feet. We will have a snack at the turnaround. I'll be preparing for a backpacking trip and will be in the ramp down phase so we can take our time, enjoy some conversation, take water breaks, etc. No rush on the trail. No person left behind. Beginner friendly.

Parking Fee: $2.00 (pay stations in the parking lot). Elena Gallegos Open Space belongs to the City of Albuquerque; federal recreation site passes aren't valid on this property. Restroom facilities are available near the trailhead.

Important Info: This is a popular trail at the eastern edge of the city but it is still wilderness. Please be prepared for the physical effort and the hot weather. Water, sturdy sport shoes and patience for slower hikers in the group are a must. A snack, electrolytes and sun protection are recommended. Message me with any questions.
