MEETING POINT: Sunday 11am in the overflow car park of Johnny Foxes' pub in Glencullen Co Dublin. Google Maps ref N53.221826 W6.217797 and car pool to start point as parking is limited there. I don't think there's a public transport option here at the weekends.
I was thinking of posting Slieve Foye in Carlingford this time but as I'm recovering from an injury, I though it better to post something a little easier.
This is a fairly easy route visiting two summits in the Dublin Mountains. It's about 10km to 13km in length depending on options, with around 400m of ascent.
The route follows the Wicklow Way for some 2km before branching off and following a small stream up through a forest break on to the open hillside and up to Knocknagun - the granite tor in the photo. The col between the two summits can be swampy in wet weather but shouldn't be an issue currently, otherwise it's fairly easy terrain. Return from the second peak is on forest track.
