Midweek Morning Mountain Goat Hike
Rating: Strenuous Another fun Mountain Goat hike. The idea is to have some hikes that are steep, off trail, fast, strenuous, mini morning adventures. A good way to know if you're in condition for this is if you can go up and down Atalaya (from the upper parking lot to the top, not the saddle) in 2 hours or less on a clear day. The regular (non-Mountain Goat) is on alternate Wednesdays. These morning mini-adventures are definitely not for everyone, but they may be for you. We will figure out where we go that morning. It's always fun. We will meet at 8:00 AM, hike for approximately 2 1/2-3 hours and try to be back at the cars around 12:00 For the Mountain Goat hikes, if you haven't hiked with us before, please contact Dave Gold (http://www.meetup.com/hiking-399/message/?recipientId=2429937) first. Directions We will meet behind Albertson's in the DeVargas Mall. That is on the west side (Sabino St) despite what the map shows. Dave's cell is[masked] if you're lost or running late. NOTE: If you sign up as Yes, but can't make it PLEASE call me, so we don't wait unnecessarily. Thanks! No-Show policy Our no-show policy is included here (http://www.meetup.com/hiking-399/pages/No_Show_Policy/?name=No_Show_Policy) for your reference.

What we're about

Greetings!
On behalf of all the organizers of the Santa Fe Hiking Meetup group – welcome! We have a fantastic bunch of people, you’ll find everyone friendly and fun to hike with, and we think you will really enjoy the hikes. Meet other local hiking enthusiasts and those who are dedicated to hiking excursions near and far!

Browse around on our site in the Pages (http://www.meetup.com/hiking-399/pages/General_Information/?name=General_Information) section and take a look at our information about hiking preparation, etiquette, safety, and gear – good preparation for hiking with our group.

Everyone's pace is different and we want everyone to have fun. Should you find yourself on a hike that is too fast or too slow for you, your fun-factor is diminished. When using terms like “moderate” and “strenuous” each person interprets these terms differently. We want you to know what to expect from a hike and have the most amount of fun, so we have established a method to get everyone using the same guidelines. Read our Hike Ratings (http://www.meetup.com/hiking-399/pages/Hike%20Effort%20and%20Pace%20Description/?name=Hike+Effort+and+Pace+Description) for more information.

We look forward to hiking with you.
Happy Hiking!
