Sunday Burros Group- Exploring the Frijoles badlands of the Abiquiu valley

This Sunday's hike will be led by our Abiquiu expert, Ted Harsha

The group will meet at the usual place behind Market Street on Sabino Street at 9 AM l and head out to meet Ted at Bodes by 10 AM.

This hike will travel hill and dale through a network of arroyos, game trails and ridgelines of white place like formations. It will be a loop route of about 5-6 miles. It will require all types of hiking with some strong scrambling sections, uphill climbs and irregular footing. The route will have deep gorge sections, mini arroyo sections and broad open vistas. The cottonwoods of the Frijoles bosque should be very colorful. All in all a moderate plus hike, one might finish up with wet hiking boots.

Ted will meet all hikers at Bodes at 10am and drive to the nearby trailhead on paved roads.
