Hike Description: Del Toro is a wide, sandy arroyo surrounded by scrub juniper and cholla, and is about 45 minutes north of Santa Fe. The sides of the arroyo range from a few feet of sand to 30' sandstone cliffs intricately carved by erosion. We will follow the arroyo about 1.5 miles to a small shrine which has been carved into the wall of a sandstone cliff above the arroyo. We will then explore a nearby canyon lined with some nice sandstone formations. We follow the arroyo back the same way as we came.
