Upper/Lower Nambe Loop
Details
I was writing this up when the Mountain Club posted their version of the same hike. I am putting this one on Sunday to avoid interfering.
Loop hike counter clockwise we will do the mostly downhill part first to that we can really enjoy the type II fun on the Lower Nambe section. Yes, it's the kind of climb that you are glad you did but makes you examine your life choices while doing it.
9.6 miles/2599 feet ascent by host stats.
The host last did this one in 2019 and this will be the third time. The Lower Nambe is rough in parts, the Upper Nambe is quite nice with careful route finding needed. The status of deadfall is unknown. We'll find out when we get there.
This is a very strenuous event but is moderately paced traveling at 1.8 to 2 mph. Hike time 5.5 to 6 hours.
Hikers may be asked about their recent experience if they have not hiked with the host before. Hikers should be able hike Atalaya Mountain in 4 hours max.
Event and hike times are estimates. The host cannot guarantee a return time. It is wise to not schedule anything important or set a time limit due to other commitments.
