Midweek Morning Hike

Pace: Moderate -- in our group that means up and down Atalaya in 2 1/2 hours or less, 4 miles, 1800' elevation gain.

We will go somewhere along Hyde Park Road or maybe the Tesuque River. We will choose a place depending on who shows up. If appropriate we will divide into a moderate and strenuous group. Dave leads the moderate group. There are many pretty options to choose from and we will accommodate people .

We always have a fun adventure. We will meet at 9:30 AM, hike for approximately 2 1/2 hours, and try to be back at the cars between 1 and 1:30.

Directions

We will meet on the street that goes INTO the Fort Marcy Complex, NOT the parking FOR the complex. This is so we don't use spaces they need for their patrons. Then we will carpool up somewhere, about a 10-15 minutes drive. If you look at maps.google.com it will get you close, but doesn't show the entrance road. Artist Road turns into the entrance road to the Fort Marcy Recreational Complex. So coming from downtown, make a left into the complex at the Artist Road light, and park on the side of the entrance road. Dave's cell is 505-577-7557 if you're lost or running late.
