We meet at Gold Bar Park. Click on the red pin on the map for directions. This brisk walk is around 7-8 km depending on the route we take. We walk on paths or trails in the river valley so it is hard to avoid hills, stairs, possible mud, exposed roots and difficult terrain.
We will walk to Highlands Golf Club for dinner then walk back to the parking lot after our meal. Check out their website https://www.highlandsgolfclub.com to see the menu in advance. Please try to sign up early as we will need to make reservations. Remember to follow all pertinent health restrictions for restaurants that are in place at the time of the event.
We will arrive a few minutes early so we can head out on time. You can call Doris at[masked] if you get lost.
What to bring:
Water, warmer jacket, tuque, mittens, flashlight and your fabulous personality!
Guests are welcome. We walk trails that are shared with others so each participant is responsible for taking precautions. A reasonable level of fitness is required. We will respect all rules in place. Please stay home if you are not feeling well.
Take me to your leader is a slower-paced walk with no leader.
A walking location is suggested but the path & direction is decided by the people who join the walk for the day.
Walks vary around 6 to 8km.
There is usually a break taken at a local cafe shop on the way—remember to bring your QR code/proof of vaccination.

This moderate walk is about 8 km on mostly paved or gravel paths. We will take some breaks along the way to take pictures!
