What we're about

Meet other Fit and Active men & women. Get together for hikes, x-country skiing, skating, cycling, lawn bowling, dancing or whatever we enjoy doing to stay Fit and Active! Most of our events involve walking on trails in the city.

Fit & Active is made possible by organisers who volunteer their own time and by the membership dues paid by you. When you join our meetup, you are asked to pay 5$ (one time annual fee) to organizer at one of the events that you attend or make an E-transfer to the main organizer at "ekstaz@shaw.ca". When you pay your membership dues, you can attend all of the Fit & Active events. Dues are a donation to help keep things going (to pay Meetup.com), is mandatory to keep your membership active and you are always welcome to be Fit & Active with us. Saturday Morning Walk @ Rundle Park

Location visible to members

We will meet at Rundle Park in the parking lot furthest west close to walking bridge. This walk is approximately 7 km and will take about 90 mins. We will take some breaks along the way and be back to our vehicles around noon. To start on time, please arrive at 9:45 am so we can head out by 10:00 am. If you are lost, feel free to call Doris at[masked]. What to bring: Water, hat, sunscreen, bug spray and your fabulous personality! Dogs and guests are welcome. We walk trails that are shared with others so each participant is responsible for taking precautions. A reasonable level of fitness is required. Due to current circumstances, we will respect physical distancing and hike at least two metres apart. Please do not sign up for this hike if you have any symptoms associated with the virus, have been in contact with anyone with symptoms, or have returned from travel within 2 weeks of this hike.

Wild Wednesday: I Killed six people--Satan's version!

Terwillegar Park

We will meet in the Terwillegar Park parking lot by 10:50. The park is at the end of Rabbit Hill Road.We will walk towards the river and then follow the river on a single track trail going south toward the Henday. You will need poles as this is a very hilly walk with steep sections. THIS IS A HARDER VERSION OF OUR NORMAL IK6P WALK. We will be staying 8 to 10 feet apart at all times. There is a limit of 8 people for this event.

Emily Murphy Park

Emily Murphy Park parking lot 11904 Emily Murphy Park Rd NW Edmonton AB T6G 2B6 We will meet @ noon We will head west towards Hawrelak Park on a gravel road around the golf course all the way to the foot bridge at Hawrelak Park, cross to the north side of the river into Bueno Vista Park and make our way up and out of the ravine towards Blackbird Cafe, we will stop at Blackbird Cafe + its close to “Cob’s bakery”. After our break, we will be heading out towards MacKenzie and Mackinnon Ravine heading towards Government House Park, cross the Groat road bridge and back to Emily Murphy Park. Join us
