Las Trampas – Ridgeline and 3 Peaks (Alt 1) - 12.2 mi / 3,000 ft

Meeting time: 8:45 AM / Begin Hike 9:00 A.M. / Finish 3:30-4:00.

*This is a repost from 10/29/22, with a slight variation*

We’ll meet by the restrooms at the large lot at the end of Bollinger Canyon Road. Please arrive early enough to secure parking for a 9:00 start. If the lot fills up, there is plenty of parking along the side of Bollinger. Be sure to allow for the extra time to walk over to our meeting point, if that occurs.

This hike has 3 sets of uphill and downhill sections. We’ll hit Las Trampas, Eagle, and Vail Peaks during the first half of the hike. On the second half of the hike, after lunch, we’ll head back toward Bollinger, cross over and hike up to the Ridgeview and the Cuesta Trail before circling back down to our cars. There will be nice views at the peaks as well as along the ridge.

There will be some shorter sections that are a bit more steep. Come prepared, as usual – with good boots, poles if you use them, 2L of water, sunscreen, hat, layers, and snacks, as needed, etc. We will take a lunch break at about the midpoint of the hike. It is your responsibility to keep up with the group, including waiting at any trail junctions if you get out ahead of everyone. Our pace will be around 2.5 miles per hour (moving time).
