Our hike is mostly an out-and-back, with a loop near the a far end a and a diversion down to beautiful Alamere Falls. The route will take us out past a handful of lakes, including Bass, Pelican, Ocean, and Wildcat – all not far inland from the ocean. We’ll have lunch at Alamere Falls on the way back from the loop, around 7.5 miles, when the tide will be going out (about midway between high and low). We’ll hike at a pace of about 2.5 miles/hr while moving. End time noted is approximate.

Again, be sure to arrive timely - parking fills up at this lot, with some limited additional parking along the entry road.

Note the the last stretch down to the requires a bit scrambling. It's not too bad for many hikers, while some prefer to remain on the bluff above the falls. The scenery is great from either spot.

The forecasted temperatures range from the low 50's at hike start time to the low 60's degrees during the hike over a mostly sunny day with a light breeze. Dress in layers as needed, with sturdy footwear. Don’t forget sunblock, a hat, etc. Figure on bringing the usual 2 liters of water, lunch, and snacks to hold you over until lunch.
