Harford Springs Reserve Hike
Details
Harford Springs Reserve is a beautiful place near Lake Matthews. The 325 acre park supports a diverse habitat including oaks, eucalyptus trees, and fields and short hills. Beautiful spring wildflowers, wide-ranging views and interesting geology are among the highlights. The reserve feels like an escape from urban areas, despite being just a short drive from Corona and Riverside. The park is crisscrossed with lots of trails and all of them have very light foot traffic compared to other parks. I picked out a route that includes fields of wild flowers, shady trees, and hilltop views. My route is approximately 4-5 miles round trip and I would rate it easy hike. Should be fun!
Dogs are allowed but they need to be on a leash. Bring water for yourself and your dog.
The entrance has little parking, so we will meet elsewhere. Go past the entrance on Galivan Road to Idaleona Road. Make a left, go about a mile to a dirt road named Panamint, make a left & park where the road widens on the left. Click on the red pin and Google Maps will take you right there.
Afterwards, anyone who is interested can join me for lunch somewhere. I am open to suggestions!
