I have survived kidney cancer and a myriad of skin cancers. But even though I had my prostate gland removed in Dec 2013, I still have prostate cancer. but I am not the only cancer survivor in this hiking meetup.
So it is time for one more hike to the Hollywood Sign. I will be in SE Asia starting Feb 17th so this is my last hurrah.
We will hike up into the hills and take various ridgeline trails to Mt. Hollywood. Then we descend and climb to Mt. Lee and the world famous sign. Then Perry wants to hike to Cahuenga Peak and even Burbank Peak.
We can go to the observatory (a long side hike) on the way back and then follow Larry's route to avoid the slippery steep downhill section.
The distance is about 10 miles and add in more if the group wants to go to the observatory. The pace will be somewhat relaxed so plan the rest of your day accordingly.
This is a great hike to take pics and quickly post them on FB to brag to all your friends.
Plan on it getting warm with no shade. I will link a weather forecast.
The current weather forecast is for sunny and cool conditions. We will need layers as climbing the hills should warm us up.
Hiking is always an adventure and with me it is an "at-risk" activity. Any hike with me is a double risk. That means you are at risk and I am in no way responsible for you or your guests. I do not lead hikes to get hit with a lawsuit.
