PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE WRITE UP.

This trek has been along time coming. I’ve hiked R2river fours times. Now it’s time to hike the entire rim 2rim. This isn’t a hike, to take lightly. It’s approximately 21 miles and 4k elev loss / 6 elev gain. The plan route is from South Kaibab trail head, this is where we meet, down to the river and back up the north rim. I would like to get an early start, say 4 am to beat the heat. Speaking of heat, if the forecast calls for extreme heat, I’ll reschedule. Again folks, start training yesterday. This isn’t a race, if your a runner don’t sign up. Conversely, we won’t be moving at a snail pace either. If you find yourself dropping back, you might want to turn around, Or be prepared to hike alone. We take snack breaks along the way and lunch at the river. I try to keep the number down to no more than 12. This is for safety and camaraderie.

What to pack. Bring your ten essentials, enough food and energy snacks to sustain you on this trek. At least 3 liters of water/electrolytes. There are no water sources on South Kaibab section. There is water at phantom ranch, plus two other water sources, on the north side. Again , I could be wrong. So pack accordingly. You know your own energy and hydration needs. Don’t forget head cover, sunscreen and headlamp.

If you’re interested, sign up and answer the RSVP questions. If I’ve hiked with you before, this doesn’t apply.

No dogs. No plus ones.

There is lodging on both rims. Where you stay is up to you. But, please be at south Kaibab TH at 0400. There is also transportation from the north rim back to the south rim. It’s $120 per person ,with occupancy of 14 people

WHOM DO I SUE: This is not an official organization chartered to make certain any level of safety greater than when you venture in the wilderness on your lonesome.
