What we’re about

Hiking & Improv Games is for anyone who loves exploring nature, creating social connection, and building their skills in acting and storytelling!

We go on hikes at locations all over the Bay Area, suitable for a wide range of fitness levels. During each hike, we make frequent stops to play a variety of games.

Games include:
-Theater games (e.g. Tableaux, New Choice)
-Physical games (Capture the Flag, Sardines)
-Information games (Kim's Game, Telephone)
-Any game that one of the group members suggests!

For improvising scenes, the group will come up with ideas for where the scene takes place and what the characters' relationship is. Participating in any game or scene is entirely voluntary, and no prior acting experience is necessary.

After the hike, there will be the option to meet at a nearby cafe or restaurant to relax and chat.

Hikes will be on established trails, and the route map will be provided in advance.

To ensure a safe and pleasant hiking experience, we recommend that you bring the following:
-Map of the route and area, either on paper or on your phone
-Water
-Snacks
-Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc)
-Dress in layers, to adapt to temperature changes
-Hiking boots/sandals, or other sturdy shoes

Make sure that you are in good physical condition for the hike, and are not sick, exhausted, injured, or any other impaired condition.

There are no dues or fees for this group. Some of the trailheads may have paid parking lots.
